Sketch portrait of Middle Eastern female

Physical safety and mental stability

Participant 1: The first thing that would come to mind for me would be making sure that she is physically alright and in a mental place where they will not cause themselves harm. But yes, I feel the physical piece of safety is important- and whatever I can do to help them mentally, be as stable as they can be in a situation like this. [...] I would offer if they wanted to go to that place downtown. I forget the name.
Facilitator: Avalon, maybe?
Participant 1: Yes, Avalon. I don’t know if we have services like that at the Mount- but if that were something [that the Mount provided] like the health clinic or something, I would offer to go with them if they wanted. I know for me, that solidarity piece was very important.
